Ends on

As an organization, Northern Colorado Writers is committed to supporting and encouraging writers at all stages in their writing journeys. One way we do this is by creating opportunities to publish. In 2019, we produced our first biennial mixed-genre anthology, RISE: An Anthology of Change. The royalties from each NCW anthology will support programs and services for our members and our writing community. Funds will also be used to support education and networking for writers who would like to attend our annual conference.

This year, we are pleased to announce the creation of a scholarship program based on the concepts explored in RISE. We’re starting off small, but we hope to extend this scholarship to multiple recipients over the next few years.

The RISE Scholarship will give one person the chance to attend the 2020 NCW Conference on April 30-May 2, 2020. The recipient will receive free conference registration and a spot on one of our critique roundtables.*

To Enter:

  • Write a short essay on how attending the NCW conference will change you. (1000 word maximum).
  • Include your contact information (name, email address, phone number) on your submission.
  • Upload your submission via Submittable by clicking here.

The deadline for entry is February 15, 2020 at 11:59 PM MST. Late submissions will be declined.

The winner will be notified by March 1, 2020 and recognized during our conference banquet on Friday, May 1.

*Master Classes and other add-ons not included.

We use Submittable to accept and review our submissions.
